What is an SGW license and why do you need one?
Some car manufacturers protect their control units with a Security Gateway (SGW) . Without an active SGW license, the diagnostic tool can read fault codes but cannot write data, code, program, or perform active functions on these vehicles.
The brands concerned are: FCA (Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, RAM, Maserati) , Mercedes-Benz , and Renault/Dacia . If your workshop works on these brands, the corresponding SGW license is essential .

Each UDIAG tool includes a free update period. After that, an annual subscription allows you to continue receiving new brands, features, and software fixes via Wi-Fi (OTA).

SuperADAS License — Calibration of Driver Assistance Systems
The SuperADAS software transforms your X-95 PRO into a complete ADAS calibration station. It allows you to perform the necessary calibrations after replacing or repairing onboard cameras, radars, and lidar sensors.
Compatible with SuperADAS-A (3-in-1 radar) and SuperADAS-B (full camera + radar calibration) hardware kits . The software license is sold separately from the hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions about UDIAG Licenses and Subscriptions
The Security Gateway (SGW) is a security module introduced by some manufacturers to protect their vehicle's control units (ECUs) from unauthorized access. It blocks all active writing or commands to the ECUs without prior authentication. In practical terms: without an SGW license, you can read fault codes but you cannot code, program, or reset the affected ECUs. The UDIAG SGW license legally bypasses this restriction via the manufacturer's official protocol.
Yes. The FCA SGW license explicitly covers Maserati , as well as Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, RAM, Chrysler, and Dodge. All these vehicles have shared the same FCA SGW architecture since their integration into the Stellantis group. A single license is sufficient for all these brands.
Unlike the FCA and Mercedes SGW (valid for one year with unlimited access), the Renault SGW operates on a pay-as-you-go basis using credits . Each SGW connection to a Renault vehicle consumes one credit. The 10-access pack is suitable for garages that occasionally service recent Renault models; the 20-access pack is more economical per unit and better suited to higher-volume garages.
After purchase, you will receive an activation code . From your device: go to Personal Center → Device → Activate , enter the code, and confirm. Activation is immediate; the device must be connected to the internet (Wi-Fi). If you encounter any difficulties, our French-speaking technical support is available at technique@udiag.eu .
Your tool continues to function normally with the current software version. You retain access to all previously downloaded features and vehicles. Only new updates (new vehicles, new features, bug fixes) are blocked until your license is renewed. There is no degradation of existing functionality.
No. The SuperADAS-A hardware kit (3-in-1 radar tool) and SuperADAS-B hardware kit (complete camera + radar kit) are sold separately from the SuperADAS software license. To use this equipment, your X-95 PRO must have the ADAS software activated—either through a separately purchased SuperADAS license or if this feature was already included in your configuration. Contact us to verify your situation.
